Teleprompter

If presenters want to read from a script that’s not physically on paper in front of them, then a teleprompter will really useful. A teleprompter is a two-stand setup ideal for events where speakers will be delivering speeches while standing at a podium. This type of teleprompter is widely used by politicians when giving speeches in a conference or summit.

Each prompter stand is placed on either side of the podium, or the main teleprompter is placed in front of the speaker. It helps the speaker access to the script from different angles while standing in place. A monitor placed at the base of the stand projects the script onto the glass panels rigged at the top of the stand. The speaker then only needs to look at the glass panel and read the script.

Another popular option for live events is the confidence monitor. A confidence monitor is often a display screen from 32” to 60” that places on the floor at the foot of the stage, and allows performers on stage to see what slide is on the audience’s screens without turning back to the audience to see.

Confidence monitor can be found in many events from panels to concerts to a popular channel- Ted Talks! Speakers can freely walk, run, or even jump around the stage as they want and simply look downstage to the monitor in order to view the script/speech/lyrics to more confident to make the speech in front of the audiences.

Some speakers just need to see one slide ahead, and some will require two or even three confidence monitors to see any combination of the current slide, next slide, and maybe even some notes in the PowerPoint to make the best presentation.

Although often placed downstage, the confidence monitor can also be placed at the back-of-the-hall by standing or hanging setup. This will allow the performers to view the script by looking further behind the audience. The drawback to this setup is that any audience member may turn around and view the text.
